FTP
FTP, or File Transfer Protocol - is an Internet protocol that allows files transferred between one system and another system. One can use FTP's command language from a shell account or various programs with PPP or SLIP accounts to simplify FTP process. FTP is widely used to upload nearly every single page on the internet.
Anonymous FTP allows general public to log into an FTP server with a common login (usually "ftp" )and any password. Anonymous FTP is useful for the distribution of large files to the public, without assigning huge numbers of login and password for FTP access.
