A Trip To Vancouver Harbor
Vancouver was the biggest port of Canada. Every year there were more than three thousand ships from all over the world and numerous yachts which passed by or docked here.
Those who wanted to circle Vancouver's Burrard Harbor might join "Vancouver Harbor Cruises & Events". The Harbor Cruises featured different itineraries for travelers to choose from, such as "Sunset Dinner Cruise", "Indian Arm Luncheon Cruise", "Howe Sound Boat & Train Day Trip", and so on. It would pass by dozens of renowned travel hotspots of Vancouver, and a professional guide would tell you the history of Vancouver.West End, the most densely populated district in Vancouver, was the source of the following rags to riches story. In 1862, three Englishmen bought this land at a high price. People laughed at them for their "stupidity" because real estate was stagnant at that time. The three men were even called "the three nuts". With the fast development of West End, people who had ever sneered at them would regret missing the opportunity of their life."Harbor Center Lookout" on top of the Harbor Center Tower. One could get there by taking a glass lift from the ground to the top in a mere fifty seconds. However, at nine every night, one would hear a gunshot in the distance. In 1894, a gun built at the British sea bank was moved to Vancouver to fire shots to inform seamen of the time. This tradition of firing guns has been passed down since then.
Harbor Cruises & Events was located next to the Stanley Park, between Georgia St. and Denman St. It was accessible by walking on foot from downtown Robson St.
