Scenic Spots Of Victoria

The spectacular, wonderful views of Victoria attract a large number of tourists every year...

The Parliament Building

This old Parliament Building is reminiscent of Renaissance style architecture. It is three stories high, capped by a domed roof. A copper statue of the Queen of Victoria, a royal scepter in hand, stands stately on the lawn before this building.

The Empress Hotel

The Empress Hotel can be regarded as the most famous spot in Victoria Harbor. It was built in 1905. It looks elegant and graceful with its dark green roof and rattan-filled outer walls. This hotel features
416 rooms and is the landmark of Victoria.

Royal BC Museum

The Royal British Columbia Museum, built in 1886,boasts nearly ten million pieces in its collections. This museum comprises of three exhibit districts, namely National History Gallery, First Peoples
Exhibition and Modern History Gallery. If you have time, you can also visit the IMAX National Geographic Theatre on the first floor to see whales or Egyptian mummies on a screen as wide as a basketball court.

London Waxworks Gallery

This waxworks gallery is located next to the British Columbia Parliament. It exhibits lifelike wax figures which are so vivid you almost expect them to say hello or shake your hand. There are two hundred historical
wax celebrities, British royalties, famous artists as well as superstars. The likes of Diana, the late princess of Wales, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley are all here for you to see.

Butchart Gardens

Butchart Gardens, 22.5 kilometers from the commercial district, is a renowned park in Victoria. This park features theme gardens of many countries, such as a Japanese Garden,
an Italian Garden and a British Rose Garden. Every year it receives millions of visitors who come to appreciate these gardens. Butchart Gardens used to be a limestone pit, and in 1904, it was turned into a scenic spot.
When flowers are in full bloom, this garden holds irregularly sundry activities to attract visitors. Night Illuminations held in mid-June and Fireworks Show taking place in July and August make Butchart the favorite for tourists.
