Finally, a place to dance to where dancing is fun.

If there was ever a place where the phrase “looks can be deceiving” applies, it’s at Barbarella’s. From the
drab green exterior, you’d never guess at the all-out, no-holds barred fun that awaits inside.
Barbarella’s is a dance club with an identity. You go there to dance to good tunes minus the pretentiousness of
many other clubs that try to keep a “hip” edge. When you walk in a long bar greets you in the outer foyer is
good place to grab a quick drink or sit and watch through the windows as people meander past. Around the
corner is where the dancing begins, with a good size dance floor and a small raised stage in front for those
who really like to get down.
Barbarella’s plays a fantastic mix of music, from Old Wave classics to Chemical Brothers to everything in
between. Almost any night is a good night to dance to tunes you rarely hear on the radio or in other clubs
anymore.
On one side of the floor a spiral staircase takes you to the alcove where the DJ spins his set. A mini-lounge
opposite the DJ offers a respite from the dancing and a chance to play pool or watch the revelers below. But
it’s when you go out the back door that you are in for a shock.
An open-air courtyard awaits you, along with a stage and live music. Another bar serves as a good pit stop on
the way to another indoor bar and dance floor. This bar/dance floor is much smaller than the main floor, so be
prepared. But not everyone makes it to the back, so sometimes it is a good place to escape the masses.
Overall, Barbarella’s is a lot of fun, minus the typical club cheese. Cover is generally $5 and suggesting a
dress code is tough because everyone has their own style here. But as long as you bring your dancing shoes,
you’ll be fine.
