You don't have to be a born and bred Okie to be welcomed to one of the friendliest Cities in the United States. Many people from other states are surprised at the friendliness and the giving nature of Oklahomans.

Oklahoma City is currently under a lot of construction, both the Interstates as well as the new refurbished Bricktown area. I live in a small suburb of OKC called Choctaw. Last summer I took my kids, age 10-10 and 14 to the downtown area, and Bricktown. We rode on one of the new canal boats and even visited the little known Concourse. (our version of an underground shopping mall. The kids had a wonderful time. One of the sites that they were able to see was one of our prime restaurants, the Oil Barons Club. (yes, Dallas must have taken that one from us as it's been at the top of the Bank One building since before 1970.

The weather here can be described with a saying from the great Oklahoman, Will Rogers. "If you don't like the weather, then wait just a minute." Most temperatures thru out the year are around 70. In the winter it can get below zero and in the summer it can get above the century mark.

We are the home to the minor league baseball team, Red Hawks, whose home field is in the Bricktown area. It is to date the most updated and most deluxe facilities in the Minor League. Chandler, OK is the home of the World famous Chandler Baseball Camp and is just 45 min. from OKC.

If you are in the search for a no frills kind of vacation, that won't cost you an arm and a leg, OKC would be a good place to consider.
